This a very authentic Chinese restaurant with a wide variety of dishes. Very close to Route 9 right outside of Newton Center with a decent sized parking lot. Spicy dishes is a favorite and the lunch specials are pretty big.

Nine out of ten Chinese restaurants I used to like had gone downhill after the Covid pandemic. As a result, I go out a lot less often because I don't want to spend money on food that is not even good. Today, we decided to go Sichuan Gourmet for lunch as it was close to my in law's house. We just got three lunch sets and they definitely exceeded my expectations. They were all cook to order and the flavor was authentic and delicious. Mulan, which was used to be one of my favorites, didn't do that anymore. I'm not going to spend my money on food that is pre-made. Portion is normal but all I care about nowadays is the taste of the food. I didn't take any pictures of the dishes because I was prepared to be disappointed. I chatted with the waitress there and she told me that the chef was over sixties but insisted on not getting retired. She was attentive and spoke fluent English and Mandarin. By the way, the restroom is the cleanest I have seen among Chinese restaurants. So stop by if you get a chance. Good restaurants are hard to find now and we need to give them support as much as we could or we will lose them forever.

We've become a regular customer. If you love Chengdu dishes, you'll love this place. We still haven't found any place that prepares these dishes better.

This is my go to fav right now for real Chengdu cuisine ...made exceptionally well... dumpling game is strong with these people... the Force is with the stir fry as well; we enjoyed a credible Peking duck! Very solid understanding of spice.. really fascinating menu .. a must try, please excuse any lapse of service, they correct their mistakes with honor ...and we are patient for this food!

Another exceptional meal at Sichuan Gourmet house for my wife's retirement party with our close friends. Started off with garlic Cukes, bamboo shoots in chili oil, scallion pancakes, chicken pot stickers, soup dumplings , and cumin lamb skewers. Every dish was extremely well executed. The lamb skewers and soup dumplings were amazingly tasty. Followed by Cheng du ma po tofu, Cheng du kung pao chicken, Cumin lamb, Yu Hsiang eggplant, dan dan noodles and a few more smaller dishes. Not a bad dish all night. Here's a big hint - They also have very quaffable wines at very reasonable prices. !!!! Definitely, our go-to Sichuan restaurant.

We love the food at this restaurant. The dumplings are light and tasty--not the doughy type served in some restaurants. The fried rice is excellent and we love the scallion pancakes. Ingredients are always fresh. Service is efficient and friendly.

Crab rangoons are housemade and delicious, love the sauce that comes with it too, very fresh Chenghdu spicy beef soup is phenominal, great big bowl, so flavorful, plenty of beef

I have heard such great things about this place from others, so I had to check it out myself. Safe to say that I wasn't disappointed. Some of the best authentic Sichuan food I've had in the US hands down (trust me on this, I'm well traveled). But what's better than the food is the people at the restaurant. Our waiter, Angel, was the nicest person I've met this whole pandemic, and her mom is a complete gem. I'm full not only from the amazing food but also the kindness of everyone at this restaurant. It sucks that I live so far away from Boston. Trust me Bostonians, you don't wanna miss Sichuan Gourmet House!
